Will the Asian Flu Infect Globalization?
After the October slump in the US stock market and as the Asian crisis
continued to unfold, NPQ asked MIT economist Lester Thurow and Deutsche
Bank-Asia chief economist Kenneth Courtis to comment. Jacques Attali,
founding president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development,
also comments. Lester Thurow, one of the most prominent US economists,
is professor of management at MIT. His latest book is The Future of Capitalism:
How Today's Economic Forces Shape Tomorrow (1997).
